This was my third time going to Vietnam. I went with the apparition that all the things were going to be old and not very exciting, but throughout the course of the trip was proved wrong again and again.
Vietnam is a country I fell in love with every time I went. There is just something so magical about the people, the landscape, and everything else that makes Vietnam what it is. It is an interesting feeling to see the place I’ve been two and three years before. As I walk down the street I can almost see myself from three years ago walking down the same street. I stand on a street corner and remember that this is where the moped burned my sister, Arlen. I remember the guitar shop where Stacie got herself a guitar case. I went to the same shop where Fizz and I got to get our suits made. All these memories came back to me as a walked around Ho Chi Minh City. Then there were the new memories that I will hold on to forever, as I have the one from previous trips. I hope to return to Vietnam some day and continue reminiscing and making new memories.
Seoul was the really new thing for me on this trip, but it still had the same effect. As we landed at Seoul I could only think about the sight my grandfather had described to me when he came in the 1950’s with the US Army. He described a desolated ghost town. What I saw was thriving, lively city. It was cold though.
All in all I had loads of fun. Between the orphanages, the shopping, and the beaches I enjoyed every minute of it, just like the other trips before.
